ujian akhir nasional

I have a few teenage friends.  they go to school early morning till 3 or 4 pm, then take english course after that, in the other day they still have another tutoring lessons, sometimes until night comes. oemjiiiii ... aren't they tired????! they said the had to pass some test and english interview to be a student of that fav hi-school.  some of them were failed.  what a tight competition 

world has changed a lot.  when i was on senior hischool, i only joined tutoring lesson due to pass university selection examination, at the last grade.  i didn't take other course.  I used to study at school not more than 1 pm everyday.  If i didn't understand what my teachers said, i asked my fellow student to explain.  the only asset that i used to enter that fav school was only my junior-hi certificate!

It's not a secret that the scores on certificate usually been marked up by teachers to make all students graduate with good grade, to keep the school reputation.  maybe that's why some schools held selection examination independently.  huaaahhh....  it's hard to me a student nowadays!!!!

My sixties english teacher told me that at his school period, once he had not pass graduation test.  all of his fellow students could not pass the examination.  there were no marked up scores.  all scores are valid, original.  when they could not pass the standard score, they had to repeat their class for a year!  no exception.  there was no re-examination as it is now.

why those scores has been marked up?  beside the reasons that i mention above (school reputation, etc), maybe the teachers didn't dare to give bad score to their pupils.  students' hard work in three years only determined n a week examination. if they get bad scores, their future will be broken, their parents will be disappointed and angry, they will get depression, or can't continue their study in great university.  the aim of study is knowledge, not scores, isn't it?? scores show how musch knowledge that they have, sistaaaaaa.......  eo, if the measuring instruments are valid and reliable!! no marked up scores! 

jadi... kenapa gak dibikin kayak perkuliahan aja sihhhh.... semua nilai menentukan kita lulus apa enggak.  kalo mau ikut fisika kelas 2, fisika kelas satu harus lulus dengan nilai minimal C misalnya.  dan semua nilai2 yang menunjukkan usaha kita bener2 dihargai... tidak ada yang diabaikan.
